The continued existence of the Smith Baker Center was back before the Lowell City Council on Tuesday night. For several years, the demolition of this former church has seemed inevitable, but the Council struggles with making the formal decision to tear it down.
Dick, right on. That Maginot line in Lowell politics, planners vs. pols, strikes again. Lowell’s notable and cultural rich past is our future. Better than in the 70’s but should be a common rallying point today. Noting the graffiti and poor lighting on the Riverwalk as well. A shame.
